Nas Features

People throw the term "hip hop legend" around a little too much. In all reality, there's probably less than 100 "hip hop legends" and at least thirty of them are pioneers from 1985 or before. Nonetheless, Nas deserves this distinction. Like a majority of other hip hop legends, he's admittedly no longer in his prime, nor as he ever been the model of consistency as he's put out some subpar albums dating all the way back to 1999's I Am and Nastradamus. Despite righting the ship with 2001's Stillmatic and the follow up to that 2002's God's Son, his last two or three studio albums have not made much of an impact on the hip hop community. I will, however, give Nas credit. He hasn't blatantly sought mainstream acceptance since 99's Puff-assisted "Hate Me Now" or the even more cringeworthy, "I Owe U Back" featuring Ginuwine. He's matured remarkably over the last 15 years and has avoided the trap that many of his early-nineties contemporaries have fell prey to; never progressing. So while I'll be the first person to admit I don't remember more than three songs off his untitled album, the dude deserves respect.

Here's 5 songs that feature Nas killing it on other cat's shit...

Kool G Rap feat. Nas- "Fast Life (Vinyl Reanimators Remix)"

What do you get when you put the second greatest rapper in Queens history on a track with the greatest rapper in Queens history? A classic.

Raekwon feat. Ghostface Killah, and Nas- "Verbal Intercourse"

Nas makes the first appearance of a non Wu-Affiliate on a Wu album a memorable one.

AZ feat. Nas- "How Ya Livin"

AZ and Nas share the mic on this superior track from AZ's Pieces Of A Man album.

Large Professor feat. Nas- "One Plus One"

Nas shines on this track from Large Professor's never released debut The LP.

Jay-Z feat. Nas- "Success"

Jay and Nas find the success they couldn't find on "Black Republicans".
